I was 4 years old at the time of the fire. My brother Mike was in first grade, he was in the classroom down the block on Hamlin. He was class of 66 and I am class of 68. I do remember that day even though I was 4 years old. My mother sent my father to go find my brother, while my mom and I looked out the window and saw the smoke. We lived on the corner of Ridgeway and Huron accross from Ryerson school. I am glad that everyone is finally talking about what happened. We did not talk about it much growing up - but when my mom and I read "To Sleep With the Angeles" that's when we finally opened up about it.
