Its hard to put into words: as a classmate and friend I remember Beverly as friendly, smart, shy, and cute! I recall one of those social dances that the school would have in the Church basement to get us (adolecent's) to interact with the opposite sex.
I remember dancing with Beverly, a slow dance, and also an awkward attempt at what they called the jitterbug. I really recall this as a bashful 12 or 13 year old. I remember the stress of asking a girl to dance and being that close, trying not to step on her toes, and hoping your friends don't laugh or tease you. Its just a snapshot of a memory from a long time ago, but a FOND ONE! -- (Bill O, Friend)
Beverly Burda was my aunt, and I never got the chance to meet her, nor did my mother. I don't know much about her, except that she was an amazing child. I know my family and I miss her dearly, but I just wanted to say that I loved her, even though i never met her. I am only 13 at the moment (2009) but I understand all this. She was 13 when she passed away and I hope her friends remember her for the truly remarkable person she was. -- (Katie Pantaleo, Niece)
Beverly was my best friend, and I never knew her to be unkind in any way. I went to public school. When I came home at lunch time I would always run to the front room window where I lived to see her walking back to school, and that was the last time I would ever see her. I thing of her at this time every year and always will - I will never forget her. I was also one of her friends that helped carry her casket at her funeral. -- (Carol Massie Primm, Friend)
